Nota: Nada sei da vida de Renato Guttuso, pelo que não sei se terá sido uma «bela vida». Gosto de algumas obras dele e acho interessante a maneira como os artistas, em geral, criam beleza através do caos. Mas ainda penso que a melhor criação é a da natureza e julgo que nada humano a pode superar na sua perfeição. Daí que não concorde nada com a frase inicial de Maughan: «the only thing which makes it possible to regard this world we live in without disgust is the beauty which now and then men create out of the chaos».
